I just added this category (offtopic/not about racing) mostly because there are times where I want to write about something else (I promise not to write about politics unless it has to do with racing in a direct way.)
Last night I ripped two of my old Camper Von Beethoven cds ("Key Lime Pie" and "Telephone Free Landslide Victory") so I could put them on my iPod. In listening to them, I realized how much I missed this band -- so I decided to google to see if there was any news. Amazingly enough, they're getting back together.
If you've never listened to Camper before, you should. They're a remarkable, eclectic group which straddles so many categories that nobody was ever quite sure where to list them -- a little rock, a little country, a little pop, and a generally fun attitude. If you don't place them, their best known songs were probably "Take The Skinheads Bowling" and a really great cover of "Pictures of Matchstick Men".
