Historical Note

The current organization is the second to carry the name. The first ARCA was founded in 1933 by the Collier brothers and in its time was the principal road racing sanctioning body in the United States. After WWII, the Sports Car Club of America took on a similar function and the original ARCA was not revived.

In 1952, the Midwest Association for Race Cars was founded. MARC changed its name to ARCA in 1964.
