Speedworld Raceway Park

Speedworld Raceway Park is a 1/4 mile NHRA dragstrip located near Wittmann, Arizona. It ceased operations in February 2013 when shut down by Maricopa County. West Valley Speedway was located next door.

There is also a motocross track on the grounds operating as Speedworld Motocross Park.

Historical Note

The dragstrip opened on February 22nd, 1963. A 1/8th mile dirt oval operated from 1983 through 1989 under the name Sidewinder Speedway. The dragstrip has also operated as Phoenix Dragway, Phoenix Raceway Park and Arizona Raceway. A proposed road course was never built. The track closed due to action by Maricopa County officials in February of 2013.
