Moffett Field

Moffett Field was an airport course on Naval Air Station Moffett Field, 35 miles southeast of San Francisco, CA, in the heart of Silicon Valley. It was used for SCCA National racing in 1953.

Historical Note

Moffett Field was the base for the US Navy's dirigible airships. The huge hangar that once held them still exists. The facility is now operated by NASA, which is trying to figure out what to do with the hanger, which is both a historical landmark and throughly contaminated with asbestos.
