Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach was a 1.8-mile (1950) or 2.1-mile (1951-56) temporary road-race course set up on the roadways of Del Monte Forest on the Monterey Peninsula, CA. Unfortunately, the roads, and the forest of Monterey pines through which they run, seem likely to be torn up to make room for yet another golf course.

Historical Note

Part of the north section of the 2.1-mile course was not paved, but was a dirt road. After a fatality in the 1956 race, the Pebble Beach Road Races were moved to Laguna Seca for 1957.
