West 16th Street Speedway was a 1/4 mile paved oval across the street from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
West 16th Street Speedway was built by Rags Mitchell just after WWII. The track operated from May 29th, 1946 through May 30th, 1958. The site was sold to a developer who built the shopping center that is there today.
This track also operated as Indianapolis Midget Speedway, Speedbowl Park, 16th Street Speedway, and Rag Mitchell's West 16th Street Speedway.
