Mineola Fairgrounds operated a 1/2 mile dirt oval until 1949, when the fairgrounds were torn down and a county courthouse complex was constructed.
The track was built in 1866 for horses. The track was used for auto racing from 1922 through 1949, except not during WWII when auto racing was banned throughout the US.
3/10/2020: The OpenHistoricalMap server is currently having technical issues with updates of new data. If you do not see any historical data on the OHM layer or any overlays, this is probably why. The server maintainers are aware of the issue and working on it.
