Historical Note

The track opened in 1949 as a 5/8 mile dirt oval. It operated as such through 1975 (but did not operate in 1962-1964). In 1976 it was cut down to 1/2 mile, a configuration which ran through 2001. In 2002, the current configuration of 3/8 and 1/4 mile ovals was introduced.

This track has also operated as Black Hills Motor Speedway, Rapid Valley Race Track and Rapid Valley Speedway.
