RSS ("Really Simple Syndication") is a way for a web site to publish a summary of "interesting" items. Many web sites publish RSS summaries these days, including CNN, geek news sites like The Register and The Inquirer, and humor sites like BBSpot. I am now using RSS to summarize recent additions and updates to the site.
An RSS aggregator is a tool for collecting RSS feeds in a central place. Some are standalone programs and some integrate into your email client or web browser. Newer browsers have integrated support. If you're using Firefox, look for a little orange icon in the status bar on the bottom right corner of your browser and click on it to subscribe. With Safari and Opera, click on the RSS link.
Google Reader provides a nice way to organize RSS feeds.
